DO NOT CONFUSE THIS BOOK WITH THE KINDLE VERSIONS! As a Verified Purchaser, I can personally attest that if you buy it, you WILL get the full set of eleven stories (unless they've edited it down in the meantime, which would, however, require assigning a new ISBN to the new, edited version). Whether this book will remain in print and available for purchase is a separate question, and one which unfortunately I can't address.
The stories are all classics; my own personal favorite is #6, "The Boy Who Went Out Of The World," which shows us that The Little Prince was not the ONLY kid in classic children's literature to go planet-hopping! ☺

This is a beautiful little parable of selflessness and love at Christmas time. The illustrations are lovely as well. I have two print editions of this, one an early edition. The kindle version retains the original typography, line drawings and cover. It has a vintage feel that comes across wonderfully on the .
These are wonderful stories, they're old stories but have great heart to them.
This is a timeless story that tells about the true meaning of Christmas. It's about knowing what is important and about giving, not what one gets.
Our school teacher read this story to us when I was in 4th grade many years ago ..I am now 80 years old and was so happy to find it..a wonderful gift to give any child .
This is one of the finest books of Christmas stories -- if not THE finest -- I've ever seen. I read it over and over again as a child and wanted to get it to keep in my permanent collection.
I have now ordered it TWICE from third-party sellers, and on both occasions I did not get the book I ordered. I ordered "'Why the Chimes Rang' AND OTHER STORIES," but on both occasions I got only the one story. Even the book pictured above on this page is only for the one story -- not for the whole collection.
If you're looking for the one story, feel free to order from any of the eBay sellers. But if you, like me, are looking for the entire collection, be sure to ask before you buy.
This is a wonderful Christmas story that I remember from my childhood, and I purchased it for my grandchildren. I was disappointed, however, that the beautiful illustrations were missing. Perhaps this is the original version and the one from the '50s is not available. It is a great story that highlights the true meaning of Christmas through the deed of a young boy with the assistance of his little brother.
I was appalled at the quality of this "reprint". It is nothing more than pages copied on a printer and slapped between a hard cover!! And very poorly copied. As in part of the previous page is copied on to the second page on several pages. Some words on the pages are underlined or circled. Obviously all they did was take a book and photocopy it. The one review on the product states the illustrations are lovely and colored....no they are not. This was intended as a Christmas gift, but there is NO WAY I could give this as a gift. Do not buy from Forgotten Books....there is a reason they should be forgotten....
