They increased in understanding, adapted to their environment and did the best they could with what they had. It is a story that some grandparents will want to read to their little ones. It is now history and we are better for it.

I really enjoyed her book, I seems like the child's view of "The Grape of Wrath". What family life was like during that era of my father. Kids these days think it is hard work to put out the trash. The need to know what work really is like.

I loved this book; written about a period of time now past; people worked hard and had "traditional american values". If you were raised during the 30's to 60's there will be a lot of memories. Especially if you were part of the agriculture system, or even lived in an agriculture community. If you were born later, then this would be an especially interesting history lesson. Well written!!
